A musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound scan uses high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time images of muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints. It’s a quick, painless way to identify the cause of pain, swelling or reduced movement — often on the same day as your appointment.

What We Scan

• Shoulders (rotator cuff, subacromial bursa, biceps tendon)
• Elbows (tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow)
• Wrists and hands (carpal tunnel, tendons, ganglion cysts)
• Hips (bursae, tendons)
• Knees (tendons, bursae, effusions, Baker’s cysts)
• Ankles and feet (Achilles tendon, plantar fascia)

What to Expect

1. A brief clinical assessment and discussion of your symptoms
2. Real-time ultrasound scan of the affected area
3. Explanation of findings, in plain language, on the same visit
4. Discussion of treatment options, including ultrasound-guided injection if appropriate
