Musculoskeletal Diagnostic Ultrasound Scans

A musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound scan uses high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time images of muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints. It’s a quick, painless way to identify the cause of pain, swelling or reduced movement — often on the same day as your appointment.

What We Scan

What to Expect

  1. A brief clinical assessment and discussion of your symptoms
  2. Real-time ultrasound scan of the affected area
  3. Explanation of findings, in plain language, on the same visit
  4. Discussion of treatment options, including ultrasound-guided injection if appropriate

Because assessment, scan and treatment can be combined in a single visit, most patients avoid the multiple hospital trips typically needed before starting treatment.
